Simple Poolside Style

Hope everyone had a great Bank Holiday weekend. Just a simple and quick post from me today, Its been so hot out here in Cyprus that one day it reached almost 50 degrees. It has been great however to just lounge around by the pool and attemp at trying to get a tan. Anyway I thought I'd share today's poolside look..

Liebster Award

I'm really excited to share with you guys that Fifty-Shades of Blonde has now been nominated for the Liebster Award by four different people! I'm really grateful for my nominations and that these bloggers have taken the time to recognise my blog. The Liebster Award is a great way to connect new blogs together and also have it shared with others.

The wonderful bloggers have to thank are:

Karelian Va De Sype @ http://thefashionandbeautystarter.weebly.com/home/
Sam Bugeja @ www.beautifie.com
Emma Osman @ http://justaswild.blogspot.co.uk/2014/08/liebster-award.html
StyleChat Blog @ https://stylechatblog.wordpress.com/2014/08/22/liebster-award/

Unfortunately I'm doing this post from Cyprus on my iPad so links to the blogs above probably won't work, however just copy and paste it into the web instead and give these blogs a look at! Anyway here's the answers to my latest set of questions from StyleChat Blog...

1) WHY DID YOU START BLOGGING?
I've always enjoyed reading other peoples blogs and one day it occurred to me why don't I start my own. Well that was this time last year and it never really took off, I did the odd /very random post here and there but didn't stick to it. I've only really been blogging properly for about a month but I'm loving doing it and hopefully can make a go of it this time round.

2) WHO OR WHAT INSPIRES YOU MOST?
I'm always inspired by everything around me, from magazines to buildings and architecture. I keep a folder of images, articles and pretty much anything I find interesting. I mainly use this for Uni work but it does come in handy for blogging too. I also find Pinterest and Instagram useful.

3) WHAT SONG MAKES YOU DANCE NO MATTER WHAT?
At the moment this has to be Mr Probz- Waves. My boyfriend has a shameful video of me dancing around the kitchen to this! My dancing is pretty tragic but to be fair to myself I didn't realise I was being filmed.

4) WHATS THE TREND YOU ABSOLUTELY HATE OR DON'T UNDERSTAND?
Off the top of my head I don't really have any trends that I really hate.

5) FILL THE BLANK : KEEP ME AWAY FROM THE ......... SECTION OF THE STORE OR MY BANK BALANCE WILL HATE ME IN THE MORNING.
My Answer, keep me away from ANY section of the store, I love buying new things, whether that be clothes, shoes or bags! I have quite expensive taste so that really doesn't help my bank balance although I'd like to think that normally I'm quite sensible with money...

6) COSMETIC SURGERY YAY OR NAY
YAY: anyone that knows me well enough will know that for years I've wanted a nose job, I have an awful side profile and is something I desparetly want to change. That one of the only things, apart from also getting my teeth straightened (again) if you can count that as cosmetic surgery.

7) WHO IS YOUR DREAM WEDDING DRESS DESIGNER?
Vera Wang, her dresses are so beautiful

8) HOW DO YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE?
I wouldn't really know how to describe my style because it changes every day!

9) WHATS YOUR FAVOURITE OUTFIT TO LOUNGE AROUND IN ON A LAZY DAY OFF WORK?
I have recently purchased some loose fit patterned trousers from Primark and these are great for lounging around. Lazy days don't really happen that often for me but I'd say the favourite is probably just simple leggings and a baggy t-shirt / jumper.

10) WHATS THE ONE THING YOU WANT TO LEARN HOW TO DO?
I'd really love to learn how to do make up and hair professionally, for my own benefit and also to help others.

11) DO YOU DO MORE SHOPPING ONLINE OR IN PERSON?
A bit of both really. In a way I prefer to actually see/try an item before I buy it so in that sense shopping in the high street is much easier, you also don't have to pay for delivery and returns which on some websites can really sting you. However I do find with onlind shopping there's so much more variety, I'm a big fan of ASOS and with VIP treatment of next day (free) delivery you can't really go wrong.

Who I would like to nominate for the Liebster Award:

🔺Pure Vanity Secrets (Jade-Jenna)
🔺Banana Muffin (Hannah Stedman)
🔺Chowing Down by the Bay (Chelsea Marrs)
🔺MixMatchMe
🔺A Poke Of Pretty (Emily)
🔺Fashion & Chocolate (Sabrina Cynthia)
🔺One Sequin at a Time
🔺Lauren Marie (Lauren Kelly)
🔺The Daydreamer (Chloe Hill)
🔺Through the Looking Glass (Emily)
🔺Jade Huish

Questions for my nominees:
1) Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
2) What's your favourite season of the year?
3) Do you like or dislike meeting new people?
4) Who is your inspiration?
5) What's the proudest moment of your life?
6) If you could go anywhere in the world where would it be and why?
7) Why did you start blogging?
8) What is your most prized possession?
9) What's your biggest achievement?
10) What's your favourite meal?
11) Heels or Flats? 👠

Hope you enjoy the questions, looking forward to seeing all your answers,

Amy xo

What I packed in my suitcase to Cyprus

So on Monday we flew out to Cyprus. Typical me I left my packing til the last minute, like I do with everything, anyway I still managed to pack 24KG of stuff into my case- and that's forgetting most of my make-up products which I'm really wishing I had now.

However, I thought I'd share with you guys a few bits that were in my massive case (this isn't including clothing btw). The top image shows my sandals which I absolutely love, from accessorize (last year), along with the orange bikini which I literally got the day before I came away- in the sale at £22 for top and bottoms. I also purchsed some new cat eye sunnies and some bangles, which I haven't yet worn.

As for make up products I've been using Revlons "Lash Potion" waterproof mascara, which is actually really good! Doesn't budge even when I'm in and out of the pool throughout the day. This was £9.99 in Boots but definitely worth it as they are currently doing 2 for £10 on nail, lip and mascara products. So with this purchase I got the pink lipstick in "Cupcake". Also I would really recommend Barry M Gelly Shine nail polishes, I currently have my toes painted in the mint / blue colour above.

For my hair I've been using Herbal Essences New Morrocon Shine. This may sound a little crazy but for years now I've always put lemon in my hair whilst I'm away on holiday in the sun, lemon acts as a natural bleach and lightenes my hair, so I decided to mix it with my conditioner, creating my own little hair treatment. My advice would be however, do this only during the day so you can wash it out after,  as it does make your hair look very greasy. To give my hair some volume after washing I've been using bumble and bumble thickening hairspray.

Sadly I'm already really burnt after being away for a few days, having pale skin means that I often get burnt on the first few days of being in the hot sun! Thats even after putting SPF20 sun cream on, although there were some places I may have missed (oops). Anyway I'm really glad I remembered to bring my big bottle of Nivea after sun, which is soothing for my red burns. I'm really feeling the pain of being burnt at the minute but hopefully in a couple of days time this will change to a nice brown tan. Tip for myself is to keep moisturising...

Lastly I thought I'd share one of my favourite things which I brought with me, my Fujifilm Instax camera. This is perfect as the photos print there and then for you to keep. I've now got a whole collection of images throughout my year, just needing a mini album now to put them in. You can even get different types of decorative film for these cameras now.

More to come from Cyprus soon.    xo

Sun, Sea & Sand..

As I'm writing this I'm buzzing with excitement for the next few weeks ahead. I mentioned in my last post that on Monday i'll be flying out to Cyprus with my family for our holiday. We are staying in a lovely Villa in Pernera for 11 nights. Last year was the first time we had visited Cyprus, it was beautiful and we had amazing weather with HOT sunshine every day, meaning it's the perfect place to escape to this year again, even though we have had some decent weather lately in England. When i'm back there's also lots going on, with Bloggers Fashion Week and a launch party for upcoming brand Flimsymoon, details and photo's will be up once I'm back.

I'm also lucky enough to have just booked another holiday to Kos (Greece) with my Boyfriend,James in September. I fell in love with this place as soon as I saw it, it's a 5* Hotel called Mitsis Blue Domes. It was a little more money than we originally wanted to pay however since seeing this place, nowhere else has really compared, so let's hope it's worth it!

Let me know where you guys have been travelling this summer. Also if there's anyone whose been to Kos before or even been to this hotel, then I'd love to know all about it..

Need These...

So, on Monday I'm off on holiday to Cyprus for 11 nights! I'm really excited and can't wait to go, although i've left my holiday shopping until the last minute, typical me!  When I went into town all I could find everywhere were coats, jumpers and scarves. I know fashion is always one step ahead, but seriously!? It's still only August and i'm in serious need of bikini's. Anyway besides the point whilst I was looking around I found these H&M Snakeskin Slip On's for just £14.99, perfect for Summer and Autumn looks. Unfortunatly for me, they didn't have a size 3 so will have to try and order them online instead..

Statement Necklace, from Primark!

Dare I say it, I've become quite impressed with my finds at Primark lately. This statement necklace is my latest purchase which was just £6 and looks exactly the same as some you may pay over double for! It's made up of pastel pinks and blues with gold which matches a lot of my summer wardrobe. Also in store are many other statement necklaces, in various different colours and styles for only £5, so go take a look.
There's also some great clothing in store at the moment, my finds will soon be posted up on here so watch out for those...

Floral Patterns

Kimono: Bank (Pink Soda Range) £22.00
Top: H&M
Jeans: Topshop £40.00
Flip Flops: Accessorize £12.00

For summer i've really tried to brighten up my wardrobe slightly and steer away from my usual black jeans etc, so when I found these patterned jeans in Topshop I knew they'd be perfect for me. They are skinny jeans, the same fit as the Topshop "Leigh" jeans, which I love because out of all the jeans i've tried they never lose their shape.
The kimono is a recent purchase of mine and is easy to wear over anything, once again adding a bit more colour to an outfit. This will definitely be packed in my suitcase when I go away to Cyprus too!
